VINIFICATION
The Reserva das Pedras wines are born in old vineyards planted on the milenar terroir of Charneca*.
Commited to respect our heritage, these iconic vineyards are located where the beds of the Tejo
river passed, with the round stones and pebbles leaving it's mark. This unique terroir allows for the
elegant and fresh profile of these wines that truly express the harmony between the soil, the climate
and the plants.
In order to decide the harvest time with precision, we value maturation control, taking frequent
samples from the vineyards. We evaluate and cross-check various parameters beyond the essential
ones with the objective of achieving the superior quality of these wines. Manual harvesting in 18kg
boxes, selection of the grapes at the sorting table and direct pressing, gentle and rapid pressing to
avoid oxidisation of the must and excess vegetable components. Static clarification for two days
with the lees in suspension. Fermentation at 14ºC. After fermentation, 20% of the wine aged in used
French oak barrels for 9 months, after which the blend was stabilised and filtered.
*Charneca - One of the three terroirs found on the Tejo wine region, it is a sandy soil, light textured and
grainy, composed by sand (70%) and clay (15%), very pour and non water-retaining.
TASTING NOTE
• Salmon pink color;
• Delicate aroma, ripe strawberry and raspberry contrasting with the vegetal notes very typical of
Trincadeira, with a slight smokiness enveloping all the aromatic notes;
• The palate is serious and classic, revealing the purity of the terroir, all dry but tasty and harmonious;
• A cheerful note in a serious, fine profile where the acidity extends through the long finish.
